For an hour and a quarter from 9 o’clock, Safe & Smart Movement is a space where one is guided through exercises and explorations that link the internal body with the external body. Whether it’s yoga, somatics, groundwork, Feldencrais, tai-chi, stretching or calisthenics… the approach we take is one of proprioception, sensing and care. Any movement exercise can be done with intelligence and awareness. For this we need a space nourished with ease, attention, support and happiness.

Daily technique class is essential for a professional dancer. At 10h30 each day there is an hour and a half class that supports the dancer’s body, technique, reflexes, imagination and morale. The class is a straight-forward movement training. All techniques are visited though not each one every time in every class. There might be Basic Modern, Release, Foor-Work or Acrobatics, Cunningham or Limon and steps coming from Jazz or Ballet. Each Class works all the essential aspects in a progressive way from warm-up, through technical exercises until phrases and combinations in the center floor before finishing with a stretch at the end. AND… in order to support the fundamentals in our technique, speed and musicality, THURSDAY morning is BALLET with Aki Nishio. Her class is specifically designed for professional level contemporary dancers.

•Each week [see calendar] the studio will be open for individuals to work alone or with others while sharing the space. The Open Studio Sessions times are announced on the calendar the preceding week so that you can plan your work. You might find yourself alone or with two or more dancers/movers.

Each person contributes 2€ / hr into the contribution box. Accuracy in payment is on the honour system.

Ce cours propose approche contemporaine de la danse jazz, en utilisant ses différents principes comme la musicalité, la précision du mouvement, la coordination, ainsi que la technique basique de la danse modern jazz.

Après 10 ans d'apprentissage de la danse jazz et modern jazz, Diane rencontre la danse contemporaine et l'acrobatie. Depuis, elle prend goût à les mélanger, à les superposer pour créer sa danse.

Ici, dans ces cours, elle veut transmettre une danse hybride, qui regroupe les principes de la danse jazz et moderne, ainsi que ceux de l'acrobatie et de la danse contemporaine, Cours destiné à des personnes motivées et curieuses.
